It's rare to find an album where I love every single song on it. So I was excited when this EP came out relatively soon after. The last four songs make up for it, though. You might not think it would work, but it does, amazingly well. Through the whole album, I can tell the band is just having lots of fun here, and that makes it fun to listen to.
I can't get enough of listening to Dianne in Xandria that this was a real treat. Hearing 2 classic Xandria tracks with Dianne on it was great. And the 2 cover tracks were good also. All in all this was an added treat to "Sacrificium"! This is worth getting if you like or love Xandria. The overall quality, resolution, and presentation of the audio is great, as I've come to expect from Xandria.
There's plenty of Dianne's extraordinary voice, great guitar, leg bouncing drums, and those sort of "epic moments" in various tracks.
I'm really liking it so far. One person found this helpful. I like their new original songs but there are only three on this album. Their remakes of songs originally sung by Lisa Middlehauve are okay, but I think they would have better spent their time putting out a full new original album.
Dianne is a great vocalist and I hope they keep her. Holy crap that Sonata Arctica cover! This singer is amazing! I could have done without the Meatloaf cover, I hate that song. Their lead singer's voice is so powerful! See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Translate all reviews to English. Yes please! Great mini follow up to Sacrificium! The new songs follow on in the same vein as Sacrificium, with Voyage of the Fallen being the stand out track.
Maybe next time? The covers are good solid versions. I'm not a Sonata Arctica fan but the song here doesn't have me skipping it. Diane's performance on "I would do anything.
Translate review to English.
An EP by Xandria, with three new songs and many re-recorded previously-released songs from Ravenheart to India. The re-recorded songs with the new singer are -excellent- I find that they sound better and actually prefer these versions over the old ones. The new songs are also excellent, very heavy sounding, more deeply operatic than ever, and easily rank among my favourites.

Steven Curtis Chapman's Real Life Conversations, his sophomore effort, was released in the summer of But while this album represents a step up for Chapman, he is still searching for his own voice here and is not served by the all-too-obvious efforts to make him a clone of various popular '80s secular artists a problem also found on First Hand.
As a result, half of the album's tracks fail to reach the heights they could. It lyrically comes across as a considerably more polished final draft of First Hand's less successful "Dying to Live. Chapman also mostly excels on the ballads, just as he did on the previous album.
Somna Ein - Various - A Taste Of Things To Come (File contrast, the good but not-made-for-congregational-singing "Wait" became a reasonably popular evangelical church worship soloist selection. Real Life Conversations follows First Hand lyrically by continuing to explore the many facets of discipleship in the Christian life.
On the previous album, Chapman focused on motivating his listeners to actively pursue Christ. He paints the picture of security in Christ leading to confident action. While the message is valuable, unfortunately Chapman still has a way to go as a lyricist; far too often, he resorts to evangelical standards and sometimes MP3) over into cliches. Real Life Conversations' major weakness comes from the continuing attempts to fit Chapman in the box of an '80s pop star. I found myself singing parts of all of those songs over "Consider It Done's" tune; in particular, it's way too easy to sing the "didilididit" from "Freeze Frame" between Chapman's pauses.
Still, it wouldn't surprise me if some people favor Chapman's debut album over this album. When listing my favorite artists, Steven Curtis Chapman tops my list. While he occasionally slips into trite lyrics, his lyrics are often challenging. And his music is always fun to listen to. This CD was his second release and came out in While I've never been a big fan of his first project, I love MP3) one.
He really hits it out of the park on most of the songs. The reminder to look to God in both the good and bad really hits home with "Faithful Too. Even though this album is from the 80's, it doesn't wallow in the 80's production. Not all Somna Ein - Various - A Taste Of Things To Come (File Steven's early projects are that remarkable, but this is a great gem I still enjoy almost 20 years later. One person found this helpful.
You have to start somewhere, and as far as debut albums go, this one isn't all that bad. However, knowing where Steven Curtis Chapman has gone from here, it is easy to see how short this falls of his potential. One constant in Chapman's career has been his thoughtful lyrics, and this album showcases them well.
